The Duo "The Pipes of early & baroque music"

was constituted in 2015 during concerts together by Philippe Emmanuel Haas, on the baroque Pan-pipes, and Emmanuel Schublin, at the Organs.

The particularity of this duo is to perform on historical instrument or copies of  such ones, tuned at the early and baroque diapasons. The Pan-pipes presents, by it assembly, mostly od canes canes, a certain etnicity with the organ, allowing to be considered to be the organ’s pioneer. Both akin instruments, fit perfectly together in a program of music from the XVIth to the XVIIIth centuries.

There was recorded by the duo a CD of french Renaissance and baroque music, pubblished on december 2019 at the label SENTA GABELA RECORDS.

International soloist on the Baroque Pan-pipes

 

   Philippe Emmanuel Haas was born in Basel, Switzerland, in 1962, and has studied Pan-pipes in early and classical music in Berne, with George Butan, and at the Hilversum Conservatory, in the Netherlands, in the class of professor Nicolae Pirvu.
   He has participated at masterclasses for the interpretation of early and classical music on copies of historical instruments during the "Centre Internatiomal de Formation Musicale " (CIFM) in Nice, France, with Jean-Loup and Simion Stanciu "Syrinx", the "Gesellschaft für Alte Musik" in Rastatt, Germany, with Hans-Martin Linde, at the flute pedagogy festival at the occasion of "The New Flute Generation-Switzerland" with Peter-Lukas Graf, and during the "Académie de Musique de Sion" at the "Festival Tibor Varga" in Sion, Switzerland, with Jordi Savall.
   As a soloist he gives concerts, together with the organ, the harpsichord, the harp, the lute and the guitar, as well as a member of ensembles of early music, during international music festivals in Europe, expecially in Austria, Belgium, Estonia, France, Germany, Italy, Malta, Spain and Switzerland, in North America, expecially in California and in the Québec, as well as in in the Middle East, expecially in Israel.
   Since many years he is a teacher of Pan-pipes at music schools in Switzerland.
   He is the artistic director and organizer of an annual Advent concert in 
the church of Rötteln / Lörrach, Baden-Württemberg, Germany, which is dedicated to the festive early music.
   In 1992 he was a guest lecturer at the "Académie Musique et Danse Florigammes" at Sartène-Propriano, Corsica.
   On 2001 he was a guest soloist, together with organ, at the international flute festival in Frankfurt on the Main, whitch is organized by the "Deutsche Gesellschaft für Alte Musik" (DGF).
   Since many ywars he is a teacher for Pan-Pipes in Music schools in Switzerland.
   As an interpreter of music from the Renaissance and the baroque periods he has produced and pubblished, in interaction with the harpsichord, the baroque cello and the organ, several CDs for the labels AUROPHON CLASSICS, DISQUES VDE GALLO, MONTHABOR MUSIC and SENTA GABELA RECORDS.
   The Pan-pipes of Philippe Emmanuel Haas are manufactured by the Pan-pipes builder Santi Occorso from Bellinzona, Switzerland, and tuned in the pitches 500Hz, 440Hz, 415Hz and 392Hz.

Emmanuel SCHUBLIN

Concert organist

Being from alsacian origin, It is in his homeland that he started playing the organ benefiting from studies of organ at the diocesian school for organists during his youth years. For ten years he has performed as the principal organist at the histrocal Ferdinand Stieffel organ from 1777 of the Reichshoffen, Alsace, Catholic Church. Later he continued his studies in Toulouse, France.

Since 2007 he is the assigned main organist of the Cintegabelle Church organ, near Toulouse, a real artwork, which was built for the Boulbonne Abbay from 1742 away and whitch is attributed to Christophe Moucherel, he is also, since 2018, the titular organist oft he Monturu historic organ from 1780 of the Lombez former cathedral.

Beside the conservation of the instrument, Emmanuel Schublin assures the promotion of this heritage especially through the concert presentation and has created an annual spiritual organ cyrcle named "The Musical hours at the historical organ of Cintegabelle", a real cultural action to promote the essence of the music for the organ and the knowledge of the organ as well.

He is the founder of the festival "The Organ Week" at the Vabres l’Abbaye Cathedral, in the Aveyron, France, a historical Micot organ from 1761and of those from Samatan "The Musical Saturdays of Samatan" and the one of Lombez "Music festival of the Lombez Cathedral", of which he assures the artistic direction.

Since 2016 he is the artisic director of the concertseries at the german organ of the Link brothers, from 1980, in the Saverdun church, in the Ariège, France, as well.

Beside the concerts as a soloist, he also performs as a duo, at the organ o rat the harpsichord, with internationally aclaimed soloists performing instruments like the Pan-pipes, the trumpet, the baroque violin, the hunting horn, the harp, the viola da gamba, the traverso flute as well as solo singers, choires and other artists.

He is caring to transmit the art of organ playing organizing pedagogical concert addressing to all pubblic, including to the youngest generation as well.

Since 2016 he has recorded several CDs.
